I was going to buy appert.com so that I could build a visual sociology site, named after Eugene Appert (any relation?), and stumbled into you. The music post from Feb 2011 is magical. Did you make that? I've never seen such a thing and cannot wait to show it to my 4 yr old son in the am.
A mighty wave from New York City!

I don't think that this particular Eugene Appert is a direct relation. Our branch of the family came from Switzerland and mostly settled in NJ and NY (and SF in the case of a couple of us). We do like to pretend that Nicholas Appert (inventor of the canning process and the bouillon cube) is a close relation, but I was not familiar with Eugene the photographer.
I can't claim credit for the flash music thing. Don't remember where I found it either. Sorry I'm hogging the appert.com url for my completely useless purposes (I got in early, other more entrepreneurial Apperts have been wanting it ever since). Good luck with your Eugene project!

Greetings from Mother Teresa!
Where were you when we needed the leaves to be raked and you had disappeared and later in the day returned from Bear Mountain? You have no idea how high the leaves are now!
PS: call your mother!

Great website. My dad, Tom Appert, brought me to the family farm in Allendale a few years ago when I was home for a visit. Showed me my grandfather's house and my Uncle John's house. Told me stories about making crates in the summer. Great to see an Appert website!

Appert Lake in North Dakota was on property
belonging to my uncle. I used to ice skate on it.

Hello from an Appert in Atlanta. Who hosts this site?

currently it's godaddy.com. I'm not thrilled with them, looking for a new home.
