The monthly (or bimonthly, or sometimes no-monthly) Soundcheck & Picnic is a three-season tradition in these parts. The members of this loosely knit (or fully unraveled, some might say) group meet clandestinely in an unknown amphitheater somewhere north of the Canal Zone and west of Mt. Diablo. Bedecked in festive hats, if any, they partake of curious breads and strange cheeses while celebrating the mysteries of zinfandel. This often goes on well into the evening, until our host and DJ, Bennett "No man is a Falkland Island" Falklandisland attains the state of crisis pictured here.
